kindness left undone

I was attune to my “working-on-dissertation-research-rabbit-eyes” and I came across this really awesome list of research topics:  Psychological experiments that have NEVER been done.  Here are a few.

1)  Watching death

2)  Reducing prejudice and discriminatory behavior

3)  Caring for psychotic patients with maximum kindness and minimum medication

4)  Changing the focus of psychotherapy to what is good in your life

This kind of research is a breath of fresh air, and I’m once again appreciative of the field that I long ago got myself into.  There’s much work to be done and plenty of room to do it.  Check out the link to these contributing psychologists and bloggers:  http://bps-research-digest.blogspot.com/2007/09/most-important-psychology-experiment.html

Ok, so I was scanning all the wrong material that I need to inch towards graduating.  Whatever, moving on, nothing to see here.  And don’t you dare ask how my research is going.  It’s going…with lots of love and minimum medication.

I have a huge appetite for analyzing the simple things that somehow makes the world complicated; and complicated things that really don’t need to be all that difficult.

Like for example the most basic form of affection, the smooch.   Easy!  We all do it at some point or another.  But what do you really know about osculation?  In fact, lip-smacking, and love for that matter, isn’t well studied.  And what about this new idea that jealousy is driving people to spend ridiculous amounts of time on Facebook.  And what of the so-called “birthers” or White Americans who can’t seem to get it in their head that President Obama is really a natural-born American citizen.  People!  Then again, the more you know…

So yeah, the lot of my postings will be an uproar of musings on just how knotty we all are.   But you see, whatever I blog about will be worthless.  Humanity can be better understood but then your cell phone rings as WWIII sips coffee in the penthouse.

my thoughts (and more so my writings) have always been unvoiced (writings, undisclosed).  and it’s now buying its way into boredom.  so the best thing for me to do is start sputtering-muttering-cursing-cajoling.
